Office of Research Compliance

Welcome to the Office of Research Compliance (ORC) at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Our primary mission is to support and promote ethical research. ORC partners with faculty, staff, and students to ensure that research is conducted in compliance with federal regulations, state and local laws, and university policy. The ORC is the administrative home for the following committees and resources: 

• Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
• Laboratory Animal Program (LAP)
• Institutional Review Board (IRB)
• Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Committee
• Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
• Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)

The ORC is located in Woody Hall 350 and reports through the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Research.
