About Animal Care and Use at Southern Illinois University

Southern Illinois University Carbondale provides high-quality care and promotes the health and well-being of animals used in research and teaching while ensuring the training and safety of our faculty, staff, and students. The animal care program at SIUC includes the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Lap Animal Program (LAP). The Vice Chancellor of Research serves as the designated Institutional Official (IO).
